This paper includes the results of a survey aiming at recording and interpreting the attitudes, the opinions and the experiences of the youth living in mountainous areas, and particularly in the area of Pogoni. The development perspectives of mountainous areas are closely related to retaining the young population. This is the reason why the youth are the objective of study of this paper. The necessary data were collected through interviews, using questionnaires. The analysis of the results was made through SPSS software and specific conclusions were formed. Moreover, the results of the present study were compared to similar studies, which were conducted in other mountainous areas of Hepirus region (Tzoumerka, Konitsa, Metsovo and Zagori), as well as to the relevant literature.
